The Schatz Royal Quartz Brass Tide Clock is an authentic working tide clock in a stove-lacquered solid brass case with a thick glass port and a brass scuttle clamp.

This tide clock will look superb either on its own or displayed alongside another model in the Schatz Royal range such as the matching combined barometer and thermometer unit.

The Schatz Royal Quartz Brass Tide Clock features an additional blue hand that standard clocks do not have and this hand makes a full circuit of the dial at the lunar rate, taking 12.5 hours rather than the normal time schedule of 12 hours, to indicate the state of the tide - high, low or half tide - for a given location.

The quartz movement is powered by a single AA battery and is very accurate but because the lunar cycle varies from the Earth’s cycle, there are times in a month when the tide will actually be a few minutes behind or ahead of the schedule shown by the blue hand.
