An Individual Flameless Ration Heater provides a way to heat some food in its pouch without the need to have the resources to light a fire or in situations where lighting a fire is prohibited (e.g. on heathland during a severe drought).

This is therefore an excellent item to have in an emergency pack.

All that is required is 40 ml of water that need not be purified and if necessary urine could be used instead. The water does not come into contact with the food which remains in its original pouch during heating.

Step-by-step instructions are provided and the food should be ready to eat in about 12 minutes.
