• Jack Wolfskin has had itself and its products that use down and feathers certified in line with the RDS.
• A seamless certification is guaranteed for the entire down supply chain where products have been certified in line with the RDS. RDS takes a holistic view of animal welfare, from the time the birds hatch until they are slaughtered. The criteria against which things are inspected include the ban on live plucking and force-feeding, as well as "The Five Freedoms” (1. PERTEX® QUANTUM:

• Dense nylon material: the ideal outer material for slightly insulating jackets filled with down or synthetic fibres.
• The fine-mesh weave makes it windproof, whilst staying highly breathable, soft and supple. It is made from robust, smooth synthetic fibres that are particularly easy to process.
• The nylon threads are woven into a mini-honeycomb structure, creating a tearproof, durable fabric that can withstand heavy-duty use. The ultrathin material is particularly abrasion-resistant, lightweight and extremely easy-care. The PFC-free DWR waterproofing repels light rain and snow, meaning that the material dries rapidly as a result.
• With these properties, the PERTEX® QUANTUM fabric ensures the insulation underneath maintains full loft – which is exactly what is needed for the demands placed on outdoor clothing and equipment.
