But Hydrodown resolves this disadvantage because it is hydrophobic – it repels water thanks to an advanced durable water repellent (DWR) treatment – and therefore the goose down used in this jacket has a better performance profile in terms of less water take up, faster drying time and quicker loft recovery. It is therefore able to provide a better level of insulation and keep the wearer warmer, drier and more comfortable in bad weather conditions than non-treated down could achieve.
