Grivel Carbon Probe
The lightweight Grivel Carbon Probe is a rigid probe of traditional length that is ideal for hikes and climbs in poor weather conditions and heavy snow where it can be used for finding a person or animal buried in snow following an avalanche or snow drift.
The Carbon Probe is constructed from carbon composite material, carbon and light alloy for optimum lightness and tough resistance. It is 240 cm long and weighs 175 g so it is light, manageable and easy to transport. The Carbon Probe is rigid so that it does not bend when inserted into the snow as this can allow the probe to pass by a buried person.
The tungsten carbide tip enables maximum effectiveness in hard or icy snow.
