DEET Anti-insect Lotion contains carefully selected ingredients, making it long lasting, highly effective and providing ultimate protection against stinging insects. It is suitable for use both in Europe and for more tropical destinations where there is high risk of malaria, dengue fever etc. For maximum protection, you should apply the product to all exposed skin, making sure to avoid eyes, mouth and open cuts as it may cause irritation. Once applied, it can last up to 10 hours. However, it is worth noting that it may wash off with water and sweat so reapplication is necessary in order for the lotion to perform to its full potential.
The Care Plus Anti-Insect Lotion is a DEET-based lotion, which is one of the most comonly used insect repellents around, largely due to its high performance factor. DEET provides the most effective protection against (malaria) mosquitoes, gadflies, ticks and bloodsuckers as well as being reasonably effective against large horseflies and midges.
DEET is the abbreviation for N,N-diethyl-3-methylbenzamide (previously called N,N-diethyl-m-touamide) and its effectiveness depends on the percentage used. It is recommended that the ideal percenatge is between 30 and 50%. Anything below 30% may not be effective whereas anything above 50% has no added value. Therefore, when using products containing DEET, it is important to take note of the percentages. The higher the percentage, the longer lasting the effects will be with the maximum potential effectiveness reached at the 50% level.
All Care Plus DEET products are highly effective as well as being reliable and they are available with different percentages allowing you to choose the product which best suits you. Care Plus DEET is available as a 50% DEET lotion or spray, as a 40% DEET spray and a 30% DEET gel.
