Turboflame Twin Laser Jet V Flame Lighter

The Turboflame Twin Laser Jet V Flame Lighter is the lighter you have always longed for when you needed one that was not blown out in a strong wind. This powerful but safe lighter is great for a whole range of tasks such as lighting Hexi blocks, cutting and sealing para-rope, soldering metal, making fuse wire joints, heating seized bolts, thawing frozen locks, working with hot-melt polyethylene and making a ski p-tex repair as well, of course, as everyday jobs such as lighting a camp fire and getting a camping stove going.

The Turboflame Twin Laser Jet V Flame Lighter has two laser jet flames whose heat is directed to a single point to achieve a flame temperature up to 1300°C. It can stay alight in the worst of weather conditions and at any angle, even upside down, so there is no limit to what you can get the heat directed to when a repair is needed.

Turboflame clean burn technology allows synthetic materials to be melted without depositing black carbon, allowing repairs to outdoor equipment without discoloration. It is also suitable for use at high altitudes up to 3000 metres as it will not self-combust.

Features

  • 1300°C flame can light Hexi blocks in seconds, cut and seal para-rope, solder metal, fuse wire joints, heat seized bolts, thaw frozen locks, patch fibreglass, work with hot-melt polyethylene, make ski p-tex repairs etc
  • Twin laser jet V flame: Two laser jet flames directed to single point deliver powerful flame that is both wind-resistant and accurate; ideal for jobs requiring short burst of intense and powerful heat
  • Clean burn flame will not scorch or carbonise equipment and allows glue and wax repairs to adhere more strongly
  • Multi-angle flame can light upside down and reach tricky areas without burning fingers
  • Flip safety cap keeps burners clean and allows easy one-handed operation
  • Fuel view window to monitor butane gas level in lighter
  • Lanyard attachment point
  • Wind-resistant flame lights even in worst weather conditions
  • High-altitude flame works up to 3000 m (10,000 ft) without self-combusting

Turboflame Refilling

Lighters are sold without gas and it is recommended they are bled prior to filling to get rid of any compressed air in the reservoir. After the initial process of bleeding the lighter, you will only need to bleed it again when refilling.

Only bleed the lighter in a well ventilated area away from any open flames, heat sources or sparks. Use a pointed instrument to depress the valve at bottom centre of the lighter to discharge the trapped air/gas until the hissing stops. Caution: butane gas is very cold and can cause frost bites; point the refill valve away from yourself - i.e. downwards. For best results turn down the flame adjustment screw to minimum before bleeding. The lighter is then ready to be refilled.

Fill using the recommended butane gas refills, e.g. brands such as Colibri, Newport or Vector that use premium quality and are marked: Triple/Double refined or Near Zero Impurities. Otherwise, use of common supermarket brands that have high impurity (oils) content can cause carbon build up, catalyser clogging and ignition failure. If the flame flickers or becomes intermittent it can be an indicator that there is trapped air in the gas reservoir.

Please Note: This item can only be shipped within the UK and it will be supplied empty, i.e. without fuel.
