Suunto X10 Military GPS Watch

Welcome to the stunning Suunto X10 Military GPS Wristop Computer Watch.

This much-anticipated Suunto military watch is one of the smallest and lightest wrist-mounted GPS devices but it nonetheless boasts full ABC functions - altimeter, barometer and compass.

Suunto's X10 has performance upgrades to make it faster, more powerful and longer lasting than ever before.

The X10's improved GPS tracks better in difficult conditions such as when you are trekking through dense woodland, to provide more reliable readings when you need them most.

Review - First Impressions

"I've been wearing the X10 for a couple of weeks and I'm still amazed how Suunto manage to pack all the technical stuff into such a small space. To be honest, the X10 is not that small but its dark finish and very smooth lines make it surprisingly unobtrusive and comfortable to wear. At 76 grams it's so light it feels no different from wearing a 'normal' watch, - but normal it is not. To be able to switch the X10 from speed and distance on your run to finding the next waypoint and checking your ETA whilst checking your altitude and compass bearing - all using one hand and a unit that is waterproof to 30 m and built to withstand abuse is a unique experience and well worth the ticket. You will not be disappointed. Ed."

The X10 Military All Black version gives you all the powerful function capability of the X10 but with a negative (black) face, black anodised clasps, the ability to show mils or degrees on the compass and a black stealth finish.

Unlike bulkier handheld GPS units, the Suunto X10 is hands-free and uses an intuitive menu so you can focus on the action around you instead of worrying about dropping or losing your GPS when the going gets tough. The Suunto X10 records waypoints and routes, allowing users to analyse and catalogue trips on a home PC and visualise their trip on Google Earth.

Suunto quote the water resistance as 100 metres (300 feet).

The X10 features an altimeter, barometer, digital compass and thermometer for all the environmental feedback you could need plus an extensive memory as well as the usual time and stopwatch functions. Combining all of these functions into a sleek wrist computer not only enhances safety but adds a whole new dimension to your outdoors experience.

The Suunto X10 GPS Wristop Computer is compatible with several digital mapping services across the world, including National Geographic TOPO!, Google Earth and Fugawi.

The included Suunto Track Exporter PC software makes your route planning and waypoint programming fast, accurate and simple.

You can plan your routes on a digital map and download routes directly onto the Suunto X10 or print out your own personally customised maps. The Suunto Track Exporter PC software also allows you to export 'tracks' from your GPS unit to Google Earth, where you can view your adventures anywhere on the globe with real satellite imagery.

When navigating on a pre-planned route, the Suunto X10 shows the direction and remaining distance to your next waypoint and calculates the estimated time of arrival.

When you're on the move with a deadline to meet, the Suunto X10 shows your current speed and distance travelled using GPS functions. The 'Find home' setting guides you on your way back to your start point or marked 'Home' position, while the 'Track back' function guides you back along any recorded route.

Charging the Suunto X10 Military

The X10 is supplied with its own USB charger that doubles as a data link so you can charge up through any PC.
