Further making the Xmonster Ice Axe suited to mixed terrain as well as classical ice is the continuity between pick and shaft – there is nothing stopping it from anchoring in deep – and a thinner pick gives optimal performance, even on the thinnest ice.

A hole in the shaft also allows a leash to be attached.
