The Kenwood KMR-700U marine audio entertainment model confirms to the IPX5 standard for resisting streams of water (nly when the front panel is closed), while the KCA-RC107MR wired remote controller for the head-unit confirms to the IPX7 standard, which protects the controller against immersion in water up to 3 feet (1 m).

In addition, the PCBs have a conformal coating for protection against moisture, dust, chemicals and extreme temperatures.
