In the days of sail, orders aboard ship were piped on the Bosun's Call, whose high-pitched whistle could be heard against the strongest wind.

The Regulation Call (ref 2101), still made for the world's navies, is made of brass and copper with hard-wearing electro-plated nickel finish (beware of cheap imitations!).

The presentation and trophy versions (2131, 2121, 2111) are gold- or silver-plated or simply polished brass and copper, and suitably engraved.

All Calls are 4 inches long with matching 50-inch neck chain fitted with a swivel snap-hook.
