Katadyn Carbodyn Filter Element

The Katadyn Carbodyn Filter Element is a high-performance activated carbon filter that adsorbs free chlorine and other organic contaminants which contribute to bad tastes and odours or might be unhealthy for the human body to provide fresh-tasting drinking water.

The Katadyn Carbodyn Filter Element features three layers of pre-filtration that retains suspended matter. Activated carbon inside the element removes unpleasant tastes and odours such as chlorine herbicides, ¬pesticides as well as lead and hazardous chemicals.

An efficient 10-micron sediment filter holds back dirt and, in addition, lead and other heavy metals are reduced. Due

Thanks to the very large internal surface of the activated carbon block, replacement of the Katadyn Carbodyn Filter Element cartridge is recommended after 12 months or 16,000 litres of water.

Features

  • Safety: To avoid any bacteriological contamination after removal of chlorine and lead, this filter element is normally only used in combination with Katadyn 0.2 micron bacteriological ceramic filter element (e.g. Ceradyn)
  • Application: Activated carbon element is used in domestic filters for point-of-use applications in combination with Katadyn ceramic element
  • Function: High-performance activated carbon block:
  • Flow rate: Depending on filter system in which cartridge is installed: Capacity min 7 L/min (1.85 gpm) at 3 bar (43.5 psi) and 20°C (68°F)
  • Lead reduction: >90% for at least 10,000 L (2600 US gallons) based on test with flow rate of 2.6 L/min (0.7 gpm) and 20°C containing 150 ppb of soluble lead
  • Chlorine reduction: >90% chlorine reduction for at least 10,000 L (2600 US gallons) based on test with flow rate of 3 L/min (0.75 gpm) and 20°C containing 2 ppm of free chlorine
