The LifeProof Case is designed for a high degree of shock and impact protection and has been tested to Military Specifications MIL-STD-810F-516.5. This means that it has been dropped on all surfaces and edges onto concrete from a height of 2 meters (or 6.6ft).

Designed with You in Mind

We could have designed a rubbery tractor tyre to put around your mobile device but instead we designed something beautiful – a work of engineering art. The LifeProof Case is made of a tough polycarbonate frame with a scratch-resistant waterproof screen protector and a shock absorbing elastomer. LifeProof also has a shock absorbing rear Polypropylene cover as well as a shock absorbing perimeter O-ring - there are more than seven levels of protection in your LifeProof Case.

Slim Profile

We wanted LifeProof to be as sleek and slim as possible – ‘a cocktail dress made of Kevlar’ some have described it. LifeProof’s slim profile allows it to be pocketable and convenient. The depth of the main body of the LifeProof Case for iPhone 4 is 10.8mm - barely 1.3mm thicker than the iPhone itself and thinner than many standard cases.

What LifeProof is NOT

LifeProof is not indestructible and neither is it ‘Superman’. We designed LifeProof to confidently go into as many environments and situations as you can and to have the same resilience as you have. It does not stop bullets (or hammers). While LifeProof is happy in water it is not a deep-sea diver – it rated for immersion at 6.6 feet (2 meters)of water. Yes, LifeProof is tough and resilient but ‘cut us’, and we bleed.
