WaveFinder - Wireless Autonomous Retrieval System
Wavefinder® is an autonomous retrieval system that automatically alerts the crew and guides them to a person who has fallen overboard. Once activated, the Wavefinder® system provides continuously updated location information, always guiding the boat to the person to be rescued even in the roughest and most testing conditions.
This product targets every professional and occasional navigator who is concerned by the security for his guests, family and crew.
The system provides an automatic alarm should an overboard situation occur. It uses a state-of-the-art guidance system to accurately guide the boat to the person overboard in a timely manner, regardless of the severity of the weather and currents. It is an active, intelligent safety system complementing and enhancing existing products such as life jackets and flashing lights.
The complete installation (transmitters, antenna and display) can be tested at any time by the users.
Display
The control console consists of a waterproof LED display and a horn that alerts the crew in case an overboard situation has occured. The display provides an easy to use visual indication of the direction and the distance to the person. This information is updated continuously so that the crew is always tracking in the right direction.
Antenna
The solid-state antenna is a lightweight device and it requires only one electrical connection. With a height smaller than 270 mm, it doesn't impact the boat performance. A special algorithm provides a protection against false alarms.
Transmitter
The transmitter is carried by the individual on a belt (it is delivered with a holder) or fixed on the life jacket. Its small size and low weight makes it easy and non-cumbersome to carry. Once ejected, the sophisticated electronics of the transmitter are automatically activated. The long-life battery provides more than four hours of continuous usage in an overboard situation. The battery is designed for a six years product lifetime.
Holder
A holding case is delivered with the transmitter. It allows carrying the transmitter on a belt. The holder's test strip activates shortly the transmitter in order to test the good operation of the whole system at any time. In distress situation, the release strip sets the transmitter free. It rises then to the surface and begins to transmit. The holder is also carrying a sticker indicating the expiration date of the product.
- Crew / Number
Can cover all members of the boat using just one system. It is easy to allow for extra crewmembers.
