Vaude Arctic Synthetic Sleeping Bag
- High performance, ultra lightweight single-layer breathable synthetic
sleeping bag. -
Extreme conditions - damp and cold belong to the domain
of our Arctic series. A breathable polyester membrane ensures best body heat
reflection and provides enough efficient wind and weather protection so you can
go without a bivy sac if necessary. Our new Body Zone Technology is engineered
to accommodate to the different regions of the body. A breathable fabric on
the upper side is used to allow moisture generated within the pack to dissipate
outwards. On the under side of the bag, as well as in the head and foot areas, a
thin, water resistant, breathable acrylic coating is applied to keep moisture
from entering. A further protective zone in our Arctic models is located at the
sensitive kidney area, keeping this region warm as well .. The extreme models
have been given a completely new thermal collar that functions like a vest to
ensure outstanding heat retention and prevent cold spots.
The 2-way, YKK quality zips don't snag the outer or inner fabrics and are
generously covered to prevent cold drafts from entering. Smooth running, flat
cords are easy to use even in miserable conditions. Durable, 33D nylon is
used for both the shell and lining in our Arctic bags, and can handle even the
toughest bivying conditions. The Arctic Light 235 is ideal used in conjunction
with either our Ice Peak Extrem 220 or Ice Peak Light 220 down bag, for a "super
bag" that takes on even the most extreme conditions. So hey, with all this
support, you don't need to hesitate any longer. Go follow your dreams.
Sensofil
The unique VAUDE Sensofil synthetic fill is the result of many years of
intensive research and development. It offers outstanding heat insulation
properties. Sensofil is a PES compound made up of different fibre strengths
that fulfil a variety of tasks: close to the body, the finest 1.4 denier fibres
reflect valuable body heat and help wick moisture away from the skin. The larger
3 and 7 denier hollow fibres in the outer layers are essential as heat storage
elements. (Denier is a unit of fineness for filaments. 1.4 denier means a 9000
metre fibre weighs only 1.4 grams.)
