Tidemaster Tacitel Chronograph Watch
The Tidemaster Tacitel Chronograph Watch is not only about Time and Tide but also offers Countdown Alarms and
Chronograph with an electro-luminescent dial.
The clearly legible Tidal Monitoring Bezel shows high and low water, tidal heights based on the twelfths scale and
tidal flow.
Time of Day is shown to chronometer accuracy by concentric polished nickel,
distinctively different, luminised hour and minute hands with a sweep secondhand against a large, clear dial with bold luminised circles at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock
and a luminised triangle at 12. Clear Arabic numerals mark the other hours with
a red inner 24 hour scale.
The extra large and clear daylight Indiglo Digital Display is achieved
by a curved format. In master time, it displays either the month, the date and
the day of the week, with a "smart" calendar adjusting to different
days in the months and leap years, or optionally the first of two digital time
zones reading out in 12- or 24-hour format.
The next function is a 24-hour Reveille Alarm, settable to the minute and an
hourly log reading alarm option. These settings may be switched to the second
digital time zone when crossing the channel or otherwise changing time zones
without altering the settings.
Next is a 24-hour Countdown Timer that may be set from one minute upwards.
This can either act as a second 24-hour alarm or be used to count down to an
expected landfall, sounding, light loom, way point, or for racing starts, with
a strong acoustic alarm at the end of the count down.
A Chronograph mode follows with 100th-second stopwatch to time occulting or flashing
lights and sound signals, running fixes and similar Pilotage needs, or set as
a 24-hour deckwatch it will freeze sight times until notated. Digital presentation
minimises transcription errors when noting down in identical format.
The final function is the Second Digital Time Zone (the third including the
analogue version).
The state-of-the-art function includes zero suppression in
countdown and chronograph modes for clear read out and automatic mode return
to eliminate unnecessary scrolling through modes having used a function.
Last is the brilliant innovation of Electro-luminescence of both dial and digital display. In poor light conditions or total darkness
a press of the Indiglo button illuminates the whole dial and
display making the watch as easy to read as in the brightest day light.
A further
refinement is the Night Mode option in which any push button operated
means the watch will illuminate for three seconds to enable a timing or sight to be
read or noted.
All this technology is housed in a special light alloy case, pressure-tested
to 25 fathoms guaranteed working depth, with a hard anodised finish and stainless
steel back, with scratch-resistant, impact-resistant lens and ratchet-controlled
tide bezel.
