The new LEDs featured in the Petzl TacTikka Head Torch are now brighter, allowing their light to reach a distance up to 80% further than that of previous models. When using new alkaline batteries, illumination from this torch can reach an astounding 27 metres at 20°C. After 10 hours of sustained use, its light can still extend to 14 metres, and 6 metres after 30 hours, making this a great torch for prolonged use.

An additional feature of the TacTikka Head Torch is the brilliantly simple red flip-down filter, enabling the user to switch between red and white light. The advantage of this is that red light does not impair night vision like white light can.
