Ortlieb Self-Inflating Mattresses are made from a special grade of open cell foam and a fabric which is not only more abrasion-resistant and anti-slip than all other mattress fabrics, but also more puncture-resistant.

The fabric, and therefore the complete mattress, is of course waterproof.

Anti-slip surfaces

The Ortlieb Self-Inflating Mattresses remain where you put them, they do not move thanks to the anti-slip fabric. Once you are in your sleeping bag on the mattress you will not slide - particularly important when lying on sloping ground.

Puncture and abrasion-resistant surfaces

The fabric is extremely elastic. The danger of a puncture due to for example, thorns, sharp rocks or glass is significantly lower than with other fabrics. The abrasion-resistant coating also makes the fabric extremely strong.

Water-repellent surfaces

Water cannot enter the mattress and will flow off. The surface does not absorb water - important in wet areas or regions with high humidity.

Rapid inflating due to a large valve

The plastic valve of the Ortlieb Mattress has a large air inlet: the mattress is filled rapidly with air as it unrolls. Vice versa, air will escape rapidly when the mattress is rolled up.

Environmentally friendly

The insulation filling of the mattresses is an environmentally friendly produced open cell polyurethane foam which is fold-resistant and has very high insulation characteristics.

Small packed volume and low weight

Compression of the mattress is easy and using the two straps supplied, it can be packed into a small volume. The anti-slip fabric makes rolling a lot easier. Although the fabric of the Ortlieb Self-Inflating Mattresses are extremely strong and the foam has high insulation properties, the weight of the new Ortlieb Self-Inflating Mattress is comparable to other mattresses.
