The stove itself is super-lightweight in spite of it having a powerful 3000-watt burner. With maximum output, this can provide you with up to a whole hour of cooking time.

Combined with the stove is a 2-piece cooking set. The 0.95-litre saucepan features Heat Exchanger technology on its base, reducing boiling time by 20%. Complementing this saucepan is a frying pan that is made of the same quality anodised aluminium and that can also double up as a lid.

This cooking set may sound like it'll take up a lot of room in your bag but that's where the Optimus Crux Stove with Terra Weekend HE Cookset comes into its own. The stove can be packed away in the saucepan and there's even room for a gas canister (not supplied).
