Each Montane garment has been given a specific fit based on the activities it is intended for and how many layers it is to be worn over.
This affects sizes so a medium in a jacket with an athletic mountain fit will feel much tighter than the same size in a jacket with a high mountain fit as it is designed to be worn over far fewer clothes.

Advantages
Montane Mens Terra Pants are very hard-wearing and so should survive heavy wear in all varieties of weather. Slight rain and other moisture will roll off the Teflon surface, whereas if you end up on a particularly sodden expedition your trousers will dry quickly and be ready to set off again before you are.
Disadvantages
Sizing hasn't always been ideal but with the recent addition of long legged option, this may be a problem of the past.
