With its innovative and clever design, the Edelrid Zap-O-Mat is an adjustable semi-automatic belay device, ideal for use when working new routes, top roping, or when the climber is heavier than the belayer.

Semi-automatic as the Zap-O-Matic does not require the belayer to touch the device to pay out rope evenly and quickly. The Zap-O-Matic can be adjusted to suit ropes old, new, stiff, or pliable. Pressing the spring loaded green button allows rope to be fed quicker whilst releasing it moves the central bolt to block the rope.

With the ability to be locked in without removing from the harness, the Zap-O-Matic is safer on multi pitch where dropping it could spell disaster. Designed for single ropes between 8.9 mm and 10.5 mm.
