Junior Helmet

EDELRID’s range of helmets is the result of many years of continuous research and use in alpine practice. Honoured several times for their safety reserves, excellent fit and comfort, edelrid helmets also comply with national and international standards as well as UIAA requirements.

Safety Standards

EDELRID helmets help to avoid and minimize accidents and their consequences. The impact force is below 600 daN (600 kg), when a 5 kg weight falls from a distance of 2 metres. This is 40% below the currently valid standard DIN 7948 which permits up to 1000 daN (1000 kg). 1000
daN is the maximum limit for the human head. This value is reached, for example, with a 100 g stone falling of a 50 m height with a braking distance of 1 cm.

All EDELRID helmets weigh less than the permitted 500 g. In addition, the interior construction with adjust able cross and forehead bands provide a perfect fit and wearing comfort. Permanent circulation of air is guaranteed by ventilation holes.
EDELRID helmets have high safety reserves exceeding the standard requirements and are thus resistant against multiple impacts.

Attention:
The helmet should be replaced if a white fracture mark is visible on the shell

Multiple impact

Who can guarantee that during a climb only one stone will hit the helmet?
The current standard for the hel met CE-certification is based on the assumption that only one weight hits the helmet. Most common helmet shells, particularly the extremely lightweight foam models break after just one impact. This renders the helmet unusable.
EDELRID helmets are conceived for dynamic multiple loading. The standard test is repeated until the physiological limit value of 1000 daN is exceeded. The resulting value is represented by the number of impacts.

EDELRID helmets guarantee a lasting safety during the whole trip or expedition.
