Turboflame Phoenix II Lighter

The new Turboflame® Phoenix II© is an ideal windproof lighter essential for any outdoor enthusiast.

A low profile jet flame delivers a powerful flame reaching temperatures up to 1300C. Ideal for jobs that require application of heat in the windy conditions.  Turboflame’s "clean burn" technology means it can also melt synthetic materials without depositing black carbon, so outdoor equipment can be quick fixed without discoloration. Capable of burning at any angle, even upside down, these adaptable survival lighters provide safe ignition for just about anything. In addition, there is a lanyard attachment point flip safety cap and rubberised non slip coating.

The new Phoenix© can be used to light camping stoves, light hexi in seconds, shrink wire joints, patch fiberglass, solder metal, soften P-tex, melt plastic, seal fly ties, seal rope, blast rust, cut lines and more. Turboflame® lighters work up to altitudes of 3,000 M (9800ft) and do not "self-combust" at high altitudes.

Turboflame Refilling

Lighters are sold without gas and it is recommended they are bled prior to filling to get rid of any compressed air in the reservoir. After the initial process of bleeding the lighter, you will only need to bleed it again when refilling.

Only bleed the lighter in a well ventilated area away from any open flames, heat sources or sparks. Use a pointed instrument to depress the valve at bottom centre of the lighter to discharge the trapped air/gas until the hissing stops. Caution: butane gas is very cold and can cause frost bites; point the refill valve away from yourself - i.e. downwards. For best results turn down the flame adjustment screw to minimum before bleeding. The lighter is then ready to be refilled.

Fill using the recommended butane gas refills, e.g. brands such as Colibri, Newport or Vector that use premium quality and are marked: Triple/Double refined or Near Zero Impurities. Otherwise, use of common supermarket brands that have high impurity (oils) content can cause carbon build up, catalyser clogging and ignition failure. If the flame flickers or becomes intermittent it can be an indicator that there is trapped air in the gas reservoir.

Please Note: This item can only be shipped within the UK and it will be supplied empty, i.e. without fuel.

NOTES: All of the above information are based on laboratory testing results and actual field conditions (such as elevation, temperature as well as brand of gas) may produce variations in the above results.?** tests are done under ideal conditions with recommended fuel at room temperature 20-23 °C
