Sizing Instructions

To ensure a proper fit (and to ensure the boots stay on), it is important to measure your dog's paws. Don't assume paw size is based on your dog's overall size; make sure to measure using the easy directions below.

Ruffwear Bark'n Boots Skyliner are built to secure around the ankle but below the carpal pad (the small pad about ankle-high on the dog's leg). The boot should have room in the paw area, allowing the paw to spread when bearing weight.

Measuring Paw Width

1. Have your dog stand on a firm surface (wood, linoleum or concrete)
2. Place a piece of blank paper under a front paw
3. Lift the dog's other front paw so that its weight is placed firmly on the paw being measured
4. Mark the paper at the paw's widest point on the left and right edges of the paw
5. Use a ruler to measure the distance (in inches) from the left mark to the right mark on the paper
6. Use the chart below to determine the proper size; e.g. if the width is measured between 2.25 and 2.5 inches (57-64 mm), the dog would wear a small boot; between 2.75 and 3.0 inches (70-76 mm), a large boot
7. For in-between sizes, choose the larger boot for comfort and performance

• XXXSmall: 1.25-1.5 inches (32-38 mm) paw width
• XXSmall: 1.6-2.0 inches (38-51 mm) paw width
• XSmall: 2.0-2.5 inches (51-57 mm) paw width
• Small: 2.3-2.5 inches (57-64 mm) paw width
• Medium: 2.6-2.75 inches (64-70 mm) paw width
• Large: 2.8-3.0 inches (70-76 mm) paw width
• XLarge: 3.1-3.25 inches (76-83 mm) paw width
