The Petzl Tikka XP Headtorch is a superb all-round headlamp that is an ideal unit for all outdoors situations as it can give you close-range lighting, longer-range lighting and long-distance illumination as well as a hyper-bright boost short-term mode of a very impressive 180 lumens extending out to 75 metres.
There are also two red illumination settings, constant and strobe making up an impressive array of lighting options available to you.
The Petzl Tikka XP Headtorch also boasts Petzl Constant Lighting technology which avoids you having fading illumination as a battery runs out of power.
The close-range is great for activities round a tent, for example, when cooking, reading and so on without being so bright it is uncomfortable when you look towards others in the group.
The longer-range lighting lets you move about in the dark with the ability to see the ground, trees etc in front of you for confident movement.
If you are in a hurry or running or on a bike, the long-range setting gives you the illumination to plot your route ahead and, if the occasion arises when you need the brightest light possible just for a very short time, you have the boost setting available as well.
