Helle Viking Knife
The Helle Viking Knife is a revised version of a long-standing Helle design.
It has been modelled from an original Viking knife found in Norway. Although modern standards have been applied to some aspects of the manufacture of the knife, it is still intended to fulfil the same purpose as the original as an everyday utility knife.
As an example, one of the changes made to the original concept is that the 11-cm blade is made of triple-laminated carbon steel but its thickness is a clue to its pedigree, as perhaps is the way the black colour of the blade produced during its heat treatment has been left on the blade above the cutting edge.
The curly birch handle is attractive and the knife is supplied in a leather sheath.
