Garmin Bluechart g2 UK & Ireland SD Card

Garmin BlueChart g2 UK & Ireland

This new-generation BlueChart g2 features smoother layering and better integration of map graphics, for faster redraws and more cohesive panning, scrolling and zooming. It features richer colours and shading for easier interpretation and improved visibility. Also, BlueChart g2 adds more detail on land features, coastal roadways, marine services and municipal areas.

You’ll find useful data on tides and currents – plus familiar IALA navaid symbology. A growing worldwide database of high-quality photo content gives 'real picture' detail on many harbors, ports, marinas and coastal features. And, best of all, the new BlueChart g2 features a choice of new 3D 'mariner’s-eye-view' map perspective, or the familiar 2D direct-overhead view – to make chart reading and orientation easier. When you want to make the most of your time on the water, BlueChart g2 is cartography you can count on.

BlueChart® g2 mapping features smooth layering and seamless integration of map graphics for easy panning, scrolling and zooming. With rich colours and shading for easy interpretation and clear visibility, this marine charting offers comprehensive IALA navaid symbology and marine services. A choice of 3D ‘Mariner’s View’ map perspective, or the familiar 2D direct overhead view makes chart reading and orientation easier. BlueChart is styled to match the appearance of paper charts when displayed on a Garmin chartplotter or GPS mapping handheld device.

Features include shading between depth contours, spot soundings, navaids, port plans, wrecks, obstructions, intertidal zones, fishing charts, restricted areas and more. BlueChart cartography is object-oriented, which means you can pan to an object on the map and instantly view information about that point. Additionally, Fishing Charts contain detailed bathymetric data to emphasise bottom contours and depth soundings. These charts also remove navigation information from the map to reduce clutter and give clearer definition to the sea floor, ideal for fishing.

NEW for 2010 Safety Depth Shading allows users to enable shading for all depth contours shallower than the user-defined safe depth.  Also the newly-improved Animated Currents feature displays an arrow to indicate the direction and strength of currents when enabled. These arrows are now visible at a much higher zoom level.
