Single-Person Tents and Bivy Bags are extremely convenient ways to free yourself from the constraints of having to be at a hostel etc at a pre-arranged time.
They are by their nature very lightweight and shouldn't impede even the most adventurous walker.
One-Person Tents are also of course ideal for overnight stays at festivals.
