GET THE OLD SLEEPING BAG OUT, IF YOU DARE: IT'S CAMPING SEASON.
For hardened adventurers, now's the time to think lighter weight sleeping bags; for fair weather campers, now's the time of year to root out the old sleeping bag and think "yeeeeuccchhhh..."
"You may like to rely on 'old faithful', but truth be known you should be changing your sleeping bag on a regular basis," said Edward Giles of ExtremeGB.com, the UK's leading online retailer of extreme sports and outdoors goods and equipment.
"Experienced and all-year round outdoorsy types will have a range of bags for different conditions and weather – but those who camp occasionally, or use their bags for crashing on people's floors or occasional nights in the back of a campervan are maybe not so switched on about how to keep their bags in top condition and bug-free."
ExtremeGB.com stocks the Snugpak range of sleeping bags, which caters for every level of outdoor enthusiast.
"Not every sleeping bag will do every job – there are sleeping bags that will keep you alive well below freezing, and there are sleeping bags that do little more than protect you from all sorts of nasty bitey things.
"There are even sleeping bags for activities as extreme as kayaking across the Atlantic – or keeping you alive in the Antarctic at temperatures down to minus 50 degrees c.
"The technology and insulation is incredible – but there are also some common sense features such as being able to zip two bags together, attach mosquito nets and add headrests. And the importance of the headrest can never be underestimated: imagine waking up with an aching neck and knowing that you have to walk or climb some of the world's toughest terrain…," said Edward Giles.
"The usual outdoor gear just doesn't cut it with some people – especially if they're adventurers and outdoor types who know the difference between something that looks good – and something that actually does the job. Our products have a real 'wow' factor for outdoorsy types – they are the best and most fit-for-purpose products in their sector."
