CAR SICKNESS CURE FOR EASTER ROAD TO HELL
With families cutting back on non-essential spending, many could be taking to the road rather than the air this Easter – and drive the car-sickness-prone to nausea.
But there could be an answer in the form of a massively successful seasickness cure based on a piece of electronic wizardry that fools the body's nervous system.
Relief Band, originally devised as a drug-free way to control morning sickness amongst pregnant women, is now priced at £79.99 from ExtremeGB.com, the UK's leading online retailer of outdoor and adventure goods.
"As Spring was with us in the first week of February, so there's every chance Easter could be unseasonably warm – and spark a travel stampede in the UK. But in every car-load there's often at least one person who falls victim to car sickness – every journey can be a road to hell," said Nicola Sharlott of ExtremeGB.com.
"So far as we have been able to establish from first hand experience, Relief Band does actually work for car sickness sufferers – independent research indicates that it is actually effective in 90% of cases," said Nicola.
"It's worn like a watch on the underside of the wrist and it emits gentle electrical signals that interfere with the nerve activity that cause nausea, blocking the messages between the brain and stomach.
"It is adjustable, with five power levels assuring the right amount of stimulation – and it can actually be switched on after you've started to feel the effects of travel sickness, and starts to provide relief within about 20 minutes."
Working on an acupressure point, this clinical product, developed in the USA, was originally designed to relieve the sick feeling that comes with morning sickness.
The ReliefBand is CE marked and cleared for over-the-counter (non-prescription) sales for relief of motion sickness and morning sickness.
"Because it's not a drug, users will not suffer the headache, drowsiness, dizziness or other side-effects typical of most medicinal remedies on the market. Also, instead of having to take something several hours in advance, the ReliefBand can be used at any time, even after nausea symptoms start," said Edward Giles.
There are no restrictions on consumption of food, beverages or medications with the use of ReliefBand.
The ReliefBand (product code 47050) features an adjustable output with five power levels settings. It also has a light to indicate operation and low battery condition, and comes complete with an adjustable strap and a 10ml tube of conductivity gel. Additional tubes of conductivity gel are available.
