Solar Panels![]()
There are three basic types of Solar Panels - monocrystalline, polycrystalline and amorphous - and all these types of Solar Panels are made up of an array of individual cells. The Solar Panels here offer all the latest products and developments in the photovoltaic field. Life expectancy is around 20 years, depending on the type. All parts are made for use in extreme marine conditions; salt water and storms do not affect our solar panels. Solar Panels are completely maintenance-free, although if lead-acid batteries are used, the level of acid should be checked every 6 months or as required and, if need be, the distilled water topped up. Gel batteries are the preferred option for Marine use. To measure the size of the Solar Panels required, quite simply, you work out your average consumption per day: Add that to the specified power of each appliance (watts) and multiply it with the daily running hours as in the following example.
