Baltic Lifejackets

For safety, Life Jackets or Buoyancy Aids of some sort are essential for anyone near or on the water (including dogs!).

The right choice of Life Jacket, Buoyancy Aid or Flotation Clothing depends on its purpose - sometimes manoeuvrability and comfort are preferable to buoyant turning ability.

Life Jacket, Buoyancy Aid or Flotation Clothing?

  • Life Jacket: Children and weak swimmers should always wear a life jacket in and around water of any description. Passengers on private vessels should also wear full life jackets
  • Buoyancy Aid: Less bulky than life jackets, buoyancy aids provide greater manoeuvrability, making them ideal for dinghy sailing, water skiing, jet-skiing, wakeboarding and all water sports
  • Flotation Clothing: Appropriate where ease of movement is of primary concern to the wearer; buoyant clothing looks less cumbersome while providing added buoyancy should you need it
